Frustrated

Yeah, I am frustrated. I am being selfish and pouting because I want to go to a 3 day barrel race in Waco in November. Total cost $300 with stall and hook up. I have almost all the money saved but I can't spend it on a damn barrel race because we have some bills that have to be paid NOW. So I am pissed. I feel selfish but then again, I finally have a horse that is worth a damn and I haven't hauled to a big show since February!!!! It's been a damn hard year for us and I just want to go!
My solution is to sell my saddle I have for Gabe but that only kills half of that credit card. However it's a start.but I still can't justify going to this big race.we have other bills. I might as well give it up, stay local, sell all that I can and pay debit. Ugh. Being a responsible adult just sucks.

Goose update 9/12/12

Goose got his teeth done over the weekend! He had 1" wolf teeth! Omg! Anyhow, he is eating great and growing like a weed! He has filled out a bunch. He really handles nice on the ground and is very smart. I can't wait to haul him around and show him off! Oh and the other boys have stopped chasing him!
He is currently eating 3 pounds of safe and sound twice a day, turned out with a round bale and getting a flake of alfalfa twice a day.

Goose 9/6/12

He is doing great! Always comes to the fence for a quick pat on the neck! Eating good and becoming buddies with Gabe. Lynx stays up front so that Goose can build his confidence! All is well!

Goose

Day 1- well we finally made it to Navasota to pick up "Perks on the Fly" aka Goose! He is a yearling now, well 17 month old! And he is huge! I swear he is at least 15hh at the hip! His hip is taller than my panels! Any way, it was a very frustrating load for us. He wanted to load in the stock trailer but he just couldn't and naturally as our patience wore thin so did his :-( so we took a break and finally Dawn, who has tons of patience, came to load him! We ran a butt rope, she got in the trailer armed with a lead rope, carrots, feed, and a dressage whip. Another two hours ass and Goose loaded one foot at a time! He hauled great and is now chillin in his paddock! The best part of the day is that he really spoke to me and allowed me to bond with him. Lots oh kisses, lots of belly rubs....I hate that Dee doesn't get to buy him but I am thrilled to call him MINE! Tomorrow he shall spend the morning tied and I get to call and deal with AQHA. Fun fun!

The Monday after.....

Well I am officially 33 now. Today is the Monday after my birthday weekend! I had fun in Glen Rose at the barrel race with my friends! Business wise, I did not sell much but I think that I made some new connections and prospective customers!
Lynx did great for his 1st big show! He had some distractions but turned all 3 cans 3 days in a row and was trying to do good! Koltpn even got to join us on two days of the trip!
Anyhow I am tired! I am so glad that I have nothing to do today !
