I Have The Lemons.... Now What?

I am over here in Texas wondering when the rain will let up. But that is not the only thing. I also tweaked my hip and aggravated my knee injury (happened just before covid and never got it looked at) that is making my hip hurt worse. Of all things, I slipped on a dog bone and did the full splits with my bad hip/knee going forward and good one to the back. ALL THE WAY DOWN. See, in 2013, I had my hip socket and femoral head reconstructed due to an injury. It was successful but never 100%. He, my surgeon, told me to never do the splits, get bucked off or do stupid stuff. So a dog bone took me out..... Yeah, didn't see that happening! Now it is nauseating to ride. My knee is holding fluid. Add in the mud and you have one cowgirl that is very sore and very frustrated.

Good news is that I was able to get to the surgeon quickly. He gave me some PT stuff to do at home and identified the adhesion in my socket. He also identified my knee issue and quickly got me in for an MRI for the knee and to see his knee specialist! Oh and I already have a couple of knee braces that I have been using for a theoretical bandaid since I did the deed a while back. Im pretty sure I tore my meniscus.

Moving forward....I also have four muddy dogs. VERY muddy dogs. One of which is a puppy (7 months) and needs his outside time!!! I have been taking Slick the Cow dog and Cole, my Christmas Blue Heeler that is about 3-4 years old, to walk around the back pasture and let them run. I guess that since I am officially injured I should attempt to unbury my four wheeler (behind 2 mowers) to let them run. Honestly, walking is good and bad at the same time. It's the slipping in the mud that really kills me. My husband has a negative association with the pup. He says that every time he pets him, he pees. Well....He is a PUPPY and has a bad case of happy bladder. Sigh. It's going to be really interesting if I have to have any surgery!

This seems like a really down post. Why? because it is.My property is muddy. More rain on the way. I have lesson students ready to come ride but it just keeps raining. I did clean the house only to have the dogs come in and lay down another layer of mud. I have been cooking Hello Fresh meals and that is going good!

All in all, I just wish I could sit on the couch vs my bed. I can't. It seriously hurts. I wish I could at least play outside. I can't. It keeps raining. I wish I could get my dogs clean. I can't. Their yard is sloppy mud. I wish I could wash down my horses and tend to their needs. I cant. I literally do not have any where to clean them up except my driveway and no place to tie them up there. I wish we could go to the water park. Again, it keeps raining. I wish I was at least 95% without pain. I'm not. I am missing the use of my right hip/knee for now. I wish I could get in the truck and go some where. But again....Im in pain and my AC is on the fritz...So Here I Sit with my lemons. I need limes so I can make margaritas!!! Send them over! Heck, just send the Margaritas! I'd also enjoy a porch swing with cushions!!!

Life, Change and Happiness!

Last weekend in Glen Rose, I won around $1100 on Gabe! YAHOO! He was a rock star and I did not fall off despite my light headedness and nausea. I had a feeling that the "illness" was something better..but had to wait till this week to find out for sure. In the mean time, I told Jeff that he was my good luck charm! Seriously, we had an awesome weekend of barrel racing!!!
Now for this week....I finally got a home test, well 3 of them, and confirmed that I am in deed pregnant! Yup, today I am 4 weeks and 5 days pregnant! Jeff and I are totally thrilled! I ponder on the idea that my race last weekend was the good Lord showing me that even though I am gonna have to take a break from the horses, I will be blessed again when I return. So for now, the horses are turned out. All 6 of them. Gabe will be used for lessons but as for me riding, well I am not risking the life of my child to ride. I might get on and just ride around, but no barrels. No riding to "work out" a horse. NO Joe, Lynx, Trip......Just Gabe.
With that said, I have to add that last time I rode Gabe I felt like I was on a carnival ride. I was so dizzy and light headed. That is the other reason why I decided that riding is not really an option during pregnancy for me. Anyhow, this is gonna be a wild ride! I am sure that God is watching me as he has blessed me with so much!

Just a Short Run Down

Well I just wanted to fill you guys in on our plans.......yeah, I am wanting to run more and more right now because Gabe is finally getting that first barrel turn down! Joe is really coming around and started to get rid of the "baby tude" to the point that I probably dont even need to lounge him before getting on. I took both of them over to the covered arena today...by myself with my dog. I was a little worried, but you know, its a good community and Jeff was a phone call away. Rode Gabe first and wow....we worked a lot and barely broke a sweat! I guess he is in shape even though riding has been hard due to the rain. Joe worked pretty good too! We worked on leads till he got it down...then we went on to the barrels. Yeah, he will be a good one!

But there is something you guys should know, I might get to take a 9-12 month horsey vacation IF we can manage to get pregnant. Jeff and I decided back in October to try to get pregnant. Oh how I want a child!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I guess God is showing me how awesome my horses are right before I might have to give them a break. But dont worry, I will be back on as soon as I can. And until I am told that I am actually pregnant, we are gonna keep riding! Life is too short not to love it!

HELLO!!!

Ah, Turkey Day is over! My inlaws came over and it was nice and easy. They only stay for about 4 hours a day for 2 days. Then they leave. They also bring their own food to go along with my meal. I cooked a turkey, taters and green bean casserole. I am still working on the left overs and last night I made turkey enchilada's. YUMMY!

Gabe and I went to the WBR Finals last week (before turkey day) and did not win anything except a boost in confidence. Our run in the open was good....but he is now figuring out that he CAN turn the first barrel...BUT he has not figured out how to get that front end moving too finish the turn. I guess he has been hurting from the saddles...cause all of the sudden, Gabe wants to WRAP the first barrel! Anyhow, our main race run he got a little stuck coming around the first...got un stuck .5 of a second later and took off! We were sitting pretty good wishing for a little faster winner...and BAM....everyone got SMOKED! The winner blew everyone out of the water with a 14.8....a 15.099 was winning and we ran a 17.544....so we needed a 15.044 and when that gal ran the 14.8, it knocked us OUT! Oh well. Our other run that weekend was on the same size pattern....we ran a 16.8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man he was running!!! I got the video, but I had to order it and it has not gotten here yet! All I felt was horn in my hands and my butt against the back of the saddle!!! He was slinging sand and really reaching out! Anyhow, we were way faster but a 15.069 won that night and we needed that 14.8...lol All else is well and I am sub'ing at the local school a lot. I love it! I just wish it was a steady pay check so I knew I was going to be able to pay my bills.....maybe they will give me a full time job?

The Past....

You know, in High School I was not a popular person. In fact, I would say I was a dork and I am sure many would agree. But now there is this place called facebook and has allowed me to find the folks that thought I was a dork and ask to add them as my friends on there....And some, well I could very well be friends with now days! They have grown up and broken free of their little clicks. But some....well, I really dont know. I was browsing and it makes me wonder how much some of them have invested in plastics.....lol Then some, I wonder when and if they ever eat......then there are the ones that I dont really even recognize...and it seems those are the ones that are chatty and down right funny! The others, well i guess they added me for the same reason i added them.....to see their pics and to see if they have changed and if so, in what ways. Well, move over Barbie.....cause you got some competition...sad thing is, I am NOT in that rat race! But how do these folks keep that perfect hair, body and boobs? Must take a lot of time out of real life to maintain all of that....I am just sayin.....Maybe I found what I was looking for. Maybe I found out that I turned out all right and pretty secure with my personal growth. I have not changed a lot, but I dont feel as if I need to fit in with these folks. Now more than ever I see why I was such a dork in High School. I was just me. I was myself. I still am. And damn it, there is nothing wrong with that!

WBR Waco right around the corner

I am totally excited!! I got my draw numbers today and I will be sporting my Yellow Pureform shirts.....Because they are the reason why my horse can still run! Anyhow, business is going OK. Still not sustainable income, but I am in for Sub teaching locally and I have a job interview coming him....dont want to jinx it, so gonna stay quiet.....Anyhow, all is well at the Myer's place. joe kinda started coughing but his cough free got here today. So he can resume riding tomorrow. Gabe is looking good and after he put his whole back end through the side of the barn, he looks awesome...lol Jeff healed up his wounds with Aloe Advantage (check it out on my website) in the week that I was in OKC with my Mom. Mom called needing some help....So I drove up there and spent a week. It was nice to get away, but i was ready to go home after a few days...I get home sick quick!! Specially when I am used to being able to sit down and relax at home..not at my moms....she was going and blowing...Anyhow, she is fine and I think back to work now.
Lynx is coming home from his 3 months of training Labor Day. He is doing good according to Dee....She said she loves him! She took him out trail riding and he did great even with the scary horse eating monsters.....I cant wait to see him again. He is missed at my house!!!
Looks like we will get a couple cows...well one bred heifer and one cow with a calf...need it for ag exept on the land. We had been allowing our friend to put cattle over here from time to time, but this time, they will be ours. I picked the best of the herd. I am excited!! All black and the calf is a heifer calf too.

I will post the video of Lynx as soon as she posts it!!! I have been keeping up with everyone on facebook...but I know sometimes I need to get over here and do my little journal!!

Sorry!

I know, its been a while. But i have been on Facebook a lot and keeping my friends updated there. As of right now, still no job. Still searching and still collecting unemployment. I will however put in to sub teach starting after school starts......

I took Gabe to a couple of barrel races last weekend for his first time out with no shoes and since Memorial day. Surprise! He won the 4d on Satuday and almost hit the 3D on Sunday! Junior was there in Marshall on Sunday and saw my run. As you know, he was the one that broke Joe and he did a tune up on Gabe for an hour. That is not much, but he knows my horse, knows me and has watched us run on many occasions. Anyhow, he saw my run and I asked him "what did I do right?" He laughed at me and told me that Gabe and I did great and not to change a thing. Coming from him, that was a BIG pat on the back! We are now running in a Chain mouth bit (like a curb chain not bike chain) and the tie down. We are running in a saddle I won back in 1996...my very first saddle to win. For some reason, we "click" in that git up and our runs that weekend were great!!!! I felt like a barrel racer again!!!

Another thing we did different was the magnetic hock wraps and doubled up on our pureform joint supplement. It seems we have some arthritis going on. well with the combo of those two things, we totally enhanced our runs. Now if I can just get someone to help me purchase the PHT Magnets for Gabe so I can return the borrowed ones, we will be in good shape. I am using the magnetic bell boots to keep good blood flow to the front hooves and the farrier said its amazingly working. The 2-1 hock wraps are helping to keep the hocks mobile. The supplement is helping to lubricate the joints and keep the inflammation down. The PHT magnets that i am using now are on loan and total to about $250 worth of equipment......Oh and I have been using them on myself as well. Sure is helping with my tendinitis.

As for myself, we are still having issues with me getting out of bed...I hurt so bad, but I normally hit the ground running regardless of the pain. I have not gotten to ride much this week due to a sinus infection and the rain. Rain is awesome! Perhaps our grass will last until November again like it did last year!!

Joe is coming along great. He has now had two different trips for exhibitioning and really seems to find the barrels first instead of typical kid looking around. So that is a plus in my book!!!

I am still here!

OK, don’t be mad, I have been busy!! I decided to completely re-do my entire website! Go look! www.rachaelsequineservices.com I also added the RES Rent a Bit last week. I only have 16 bits but it’s a start. I should have a few more coming in the mail this week. I am blogging each bit to create an archive and help folks understand how the bits work and they can comment on them too! I joined up on twitter so that I can update folks when new bits show up. I pray that it will work!! You can check out the blog at www.resrentabit.blogger.com I think..... I was also presented with the idea to sell the magnets that work for human and horse. They are sending me some so I can see if they work. If anything, maybe it will help me some.

Ferrier came out yesterday and trimmed everyone. Gabe is now barefoot. To tell ya the truth, we just cant afford the $85 every 6 weeks to keep him in shoes. He is also lame. His left hock is swollen and he is puffy all the way around along the tendons in each leg. I know he needs his injections but we just don’t have the money to spend $800 on Gabe right now. Maybe the magnets will work on him too. I guess I will just give him the summer off. I pray that changes happen soon so that we can get back to barrel racing. I plan to go to Waco on Labor Day so I can pick up our colt from the trainer and head up a silent auction for a friend who just broke her hip/leg and wrist….she has no insurance and training horses is her main form of income. So I guess it can always be worse. At least I am able..kinda.

My fibro seems to flair every single night now. Makes “relaxing” kinda tough. Seems to be attacking my legs and keeping me from walking or sitting. I am going to tell my doc this week that I cannot take any more lupron injections for the endometriosis. Its making my fibro flair so bad. I have gained so much weight too. I almost rather have the endometriosis pain than the fibro flairs. In the mornings I cant walk. My ankles and shins hurt so bad that it takes an hour before I can truly walk. I cant seem to find that happy point of doing and not doing to keep my body normal. I think its that damn Lupron. SO, I quit.
I am still tobacco free. 131 days today. It still pisses me off to see Jeff dipping, but normally he does it when I am not around. He drove a long way…11 hours with me and mom and no dip. So, I just need to learn to not be so pissy about it. I think I am jealous. But I am glad I am quit. It gives me that good feeling of being successful. I miss that feeling.

Summer Has Begun

Well I am not sure if I posted this.....But I think I did....We put Bailey down Monday night. She shattered her patella. We will miss her.

On a lighter note, We just returned from dropping off Lynx at the trainer and Dually and Cooter at their new home (one in the same). Right now we have 5 horses in the pasture. I will miss my little boys, but I know they are off to a bright future! Lynx will not return for 3 months. I am sure that he will be just fine...he is such a smart sweet boy! Jeff rode him for the first time Wednesday. He acted as if it were just another day. Threw the saddle on him, he stood there. Jeff stepped up on to him, he just stood there. I had to lead them around to get him to move off! He would follow me around the round pen....Nice to have such a loyal pony! What am I saying...he is 15.2hh!!! And growing!!!!
My mom met us in Cleburne and we brought her back to the house. She is still sleeping...its 11:30am...lol I guess she is tired! Anyhow, she will be with us this week.....tata for now!

WOW.....

OK, first, I am watching wife swap...OMG. There is a dad who thinks that women HAVE to cook, clean and be cheerful......yeah right. His wife is learning that she has a freakin brain...hmmmmm.....
Another thing. I HATE COLLECTION AGENCIES!!!!!!!! I had one call and tell me he was from Memorial in Nac....well that hospital.....has never been visited by me!!!!! Come to find out its from Lufkin......I told him to mail me a bill. I REFUSE to pay things over the phone after that fraudulent call we got a while back. Keep in mind, this is a $146 that I can not trace.....Um, I cant remember where the bill went and dang it, Just send me a BILL!!!!! OHHHHH and he is going to report me to collections...um, he is a collection agency right?? Well join the freakin club. My truck note, credit card and student loans come first and shit, I cant even pay those!!!!! Ugh.

On a lighter note, I failed my test today. I took a test to get that teaching job for Family Consumer Science....Folks, it was not my degree. I failed the test. Then I went to the feed store and found out that the fertilizer company is looking for a rep....hmmmmmmmmm

I am and accident looking for a place to happen.

Folks, I dont know why things happen to me. I really dont. Freak things.....The latest, Gauge stuck her foot in my eye scratching it next to the cornea. It hurts. Why does this happen? I had to have it patched and stay in the dark with both eyes closed. Yup, i had to go back to sleep all day yesterday so that it would heal. Today I got to take the patch off, but it is driving me nuts.It is weeping. It is red and irritated and I swear there is a piece of sand paper on my eye lid. I cant go outside. Why? Cause the light kills me. Even with shades. Last night I watched TV with sunglasses on....YUP, in the dark bedroom with sunglasses.
Other news~ Unemployment is investigating my termination with the college. Seems the college said they fired me but told me I was laid off. Yup, that is a conflict for sure. I feel as if I need to sue them but is it even worth it? The labor board is investigating and I am to keep requesting payment for unemployment. However, I wont receive payment until they resolve the issue. This really pisses me off. But what do ya do? I feel like calling up my former boss and cussing him out. But that is childish. So I will refrain. The woman whom also told me i was laid off and who I suspect is going to take over my job (she has been up there every day since I left) saw me at a party last weekend. She acted as if we were best friends. Folks, it took all the strength in my soul to not chew her ass. I can only wear a pretty face for so long. Sure enough, later that night, I broke down and was unable to stop crying for many hours. Lucky for me, i was already home and my awesome hubby helped me get everything out of my system. I am strong, but even the strong must let out the pain.

Joe is doing great! He looks awesome! I am proud of my accomplishments with him. We still have some personal issues, but we are learning to trust each other and that is the goal. Bailey is strong. She still has a gimp in that right hip, but she continues to run, buck and play. She has figured out that its so much easier to lay down and graze. She kinda spins on the ground and eats the grass in a circle around her....Just call her innovative!! She has a very short neck and I guess she figured out its just easier to lay down to eat!!She can rise on her own and it may not look like a normal foal getting up but its her way and it works. Like I said, she can RUN. Man can she run! I love to watch the little fart! Gabe is getting in shape for the race coming up! He is looking awesome! Amazing what keeping him up in a stall just at night does for him! He went from obese to race horse....well not quite that skinny but you know what I mean. My eye should be well by this weekend so no change in plans except perhaps I will wear sunglasses a lot more than normal...
I wish I could blog more, but my eye just hurts to look at the damn computer screen.

Almost Congrats to Me!

Well tomorrow is day 100 with out Nicotine.....This is a great accomplishment!! I am proud of myself! BUT I must remember that once an addict, always an addict. So I still must keep my guard up. I must be diligent in my quit and quit every day. I must also remember what sort of hell I went through in the first 30 days. I never want to do that again!!!

A Business Plan In The Rough!

I am doing a bunch of brain storming and I came up with something today.......A Bit Rental Program. What is that you say???? Well basically, I would charge $100 a year membership.....You could then rent a bit for $10 to try it for a couple weeks.....Then mail it back. If you did not mail it back, you would not be able to check out another.....That is where the $100 a year comes in...it pays for the bit that you kept...grrrrrr. Anyway, to start this up, I would have to buy a good amount of bits. I could just add it to my website or start another....something like "Bit Collectors Anonymous" Or "Bit Addicts Anonymous". Lord knows we all love bits. But we want to try before we buy right??? They are not cheap! But when we buy and they dont work, we cant just take them back!!! Not with the horse slobber on it!! So it would be great if we could "borrow" from a friend, but a lot of us are leery of loaning out because then, we might not every get that $75 bit back.......Anyhow, my biz plan in the rough would be to buy various bits that we all love to use or have interest in using.....then start "renting" them out. I have the perfect horse to try each bit on because Gabe is so broke that I can get a good feel for what the bit "does" by riding him in it.....

Well Its Just Not Going Good

OK, I guess when it rains it pours. That is about all I can think of to describe my life right now. I got a call last night and my other side job that I had making $150 a month just got cut down to $50 a month. I was going to use that money to help pay mu truck note!!! I totally understand why they had to do it, but it does not mean that it does not make me just go "CRAP!!!!!" Basically since I am not able to travel as much to barrel races, I cant do my job. I still do the trivia weekly but I was cut back to doing trivia once a week instead of twice a week. Something is telling me that God must have something grand planned for me because after all the beat down, there has to be something good coming out of it right??? It just seems that things are just going to crumble. Maybe I am being set up to make a major career change???? I am still studying for my family consumer sciences content exam for a job that I am not sure I will get. But this will be a $200 effort to get that job. I am starting to feel like I have been black listed around this town too....ugh. What did I do to deserve all of this????? Bobby, maybe its time to find out how to just work for myself!! Anyone want to give me a loan to get started????

Just A Few Thoughts On Love

You know, I keep hearing "You have done more than I would have to save that filly" "You dont have anything invested, perhaps its best to have her put down instead of running up the vet bill" and "you are a good mom because you sacrificed to save that foal". Then I got to thinking of what my Dad would have said about the vet bill "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!! PUT HER DOWN!!! A 52 Cent bullet is a LOT cheaper!!" And that sums it up for pretty much anyone I know....except my husband. Jeff simply said "If that vet can save her life, its worth it". He never once said anything about hurry to pick her up so the bill wont be high or $275 for plasma is too high or anything of that sort. Folks, Our bill is around sixteen hundred bucks. He needs to buy tires for his truck and endless other things we needed to get with that money.....he never said a word like crap that is high...He simply says "I just hope she lives through all of this" then he goes out to the pasture and checks on her......we all have our differences.....but I am soooooo glad that my husband is with me on the vet bills. To save a life, its worth it. He was like that with TJ too....my first horse that we thought had "choke" but ended up that he ruptured his sphincter valve due to cancer......that was a bill that was not as high as this one but close....Same with Ruger. Both of those ended in death, so we are praying for her to make it through!!!

On another note, I know that the folks who said "you have done more than i would have" are just saying that. Because I know that if you saw this filly in person, you would have pulled out all the stops. She is so alert and so full of life.....You just cant help but want to try....

BTW, Bailey is home now. She has a 50/50 chance right now. It seems we are just waiting to see some improvement. He hock and stifles are swollen and she is still gimpy...BUT she is using the back right leg more and more. She can get up on her own now even though its just one big movement. Since she got home yesterday afternoon, her hock is 50% less swollen. She is putting weight on the hind right leg...something she has not done. I think she needs some grass, sunshine, and love. I have to give her pills twice a day and hydrotherapy her back end twice a day. She is pretty easy to handle.....Feel free to come over and give her kisses!!

April 17th.

I dont know what else to title this!!! Anyhow, Bailey is still fighting! She is getting around good, but she has a limp! She has foal heat scours now, but that is nothing near as bad as she was two days after her birth. Her Mother coliced last night, but she was over it quick. I guess I caught it early enough! I did get to ride every day this week. Except today because of the down pour, but I love the rain!

Hick, the dun horse that I repo'ed last month, well, I still hate that horse. I was going to ride him Monday (or was it Tuesday?) and when I went to bridle him, he wacked me HARD in the face and messed me up a little. I now have a shinner and my neck has been killing me. So after he got a good cussing and was drug to the round pen and I wanted to kill him, Jeff took over. He is NOW JEFF's HORSE. I refuse to mess with him other than feeding him and putting fly spray on him.....Other than that, he can have him! He wont let me sell him again...grrr..

Anyhow, I filed for my unemployment and cannot request payment until April 26th. Today I dealt with the credit card companies....one is just a credit card that is maxed out and the other is a credit card with vet bills...called care credit. Anyhow, both credit companies had awesome "financial stress counselors" My credit score has greatly improved and they had already lowered my interest rate. Well today I locked in 6.6% for 4 months with capital one and the did some other things too. I no longer need to worry with over limit or late fees. Well for 4 months. After four months, my rate goes to fixed 13% but compared to what they were going to do before I called, that is a hell of a deal!! They were fixing to bump it to 12% plus prime which is around 15% right now! SO she fixed me up really good. Now just have to pay it down!! Care credit is a no interest or fees deal for so long then after that 29.9...well they dropped me down to 10% instead. So I guess my point is, they helped me out!!! Sallie Mae, my student load handler already has me down to an affordable rate. So now I just have to get those checks in and put them to the bills!!

I bought plants. I cant grow Ivy....but I bought a handful of tomato, squash and strawberry plants. Not too many mind you, but enough to keep me busy. I plan to plant them on the east side of the house. It gets full morning sun, so I think they will be better there in that flower bed. I also bought a Hoe....LOL I have no idea what I am doing, but I have the help of CJ, the one who owns the feed store and sold me the plants, to help! She told me that I will be OK.....we shall see. Dont worry I will get pictures!! LOL

OK going to go enjoy the rain and be a housewife! Oh one more thing, can you guys please pray for me? I need a job and Lord willing, I want to teach. I want to teach so bad it hurts! I have put in an application to teach FCCLA (home ec) at a high school and I am the only applicant, but they are holding out to find someone with certification. Ugh. I however, have put in to be tested to get temporary certification. I have also shown interest in the ag teaching position at the local HS right down the road. So guys, it means a lot to me! Please say a prayer for me!

Its Been Stressful

Well this week has been tough. Bailey, the new filly that was Born on April 5th, got deathly ill. On Tuesday night I found her down. She was still able to get up and nurse, but she did not want too. I knew that she was dehydrated and if I did not act very fast, we were gonna loose her. I called the vet and he told me what to do. Well today is Saturday and we now have an active little 6day old filly! Big change from Tuesday. We tended to her round the clock to make sure that she had fluids and meds. Poor girl. But she is now full of it and wont think twice about getting away from ya!!
Monday I went to the schools to find a new job. I especially took a shine to the FCCLA teaching position at one of the high schools. Hopefully they took a shine to me!
As far as work goes, well, I was not able to go in wed but I did go in thurs and I can tell you that I was not welcome. I was basically told that they did not need me anymore and to leave. So I got the rest of my stuff and left. But I had to come home and care for Bailey anyhow, so I am over it. Next week, I will be pounding the pavement to find a new job/career. My resume is update, I have copies of my transcripts, so now all I need is someone looking to hire!!

Hm

Well sorry for those of you that had to be granted permission to read my blog, but I am now looking for jobs and prefer to have my blog semi private! Yup, I was told last Thursday that I will not have a job after April 15th. The are eliminating my position.....um.....anyhow, I know for a fact that God has a plan, so I had my pitty party on Thursday and got to work on Friday looking for jobs. I just filled out my application for teaching at a local school. I will hand deliver that and my resume on Monday. I have also heard of a few other local jobs, so I will apply for them as well. I am not going to be discouraged. However I must find something here. I cant drive over an hour for a job that pays $10 an hour. It wont pay for itself. We cannot relocated at this time. So for everyone that wants to help.....guys I am looking!! But please dont try to tell me to drive to the city that is over an hour away or relocate! It aint gonna happen! Maybe just maybe I can get the ag teaching job at the high school one town over. That would be perfect!! But I will not hold my breath. I am applying for unemployment, but I cant officially apply until my last day. OH and since i was part time for two different entities...meaning i got paid by both Angelina and the Career Center, I am not even sure I qualify. But I did work full time (39 hours a week) so I might just have to drive to the SS office and fill out something special there. Jeff said we will be OK, but I know that I need a job to pay off my bills!! If I get a teaching job, it wont start until July, so I guess if I get one of those, I will have a little vacation!!! LOL But guys, I can assure you that I will not get all depressed over this.....My life has changed a LOT since the first of the year and I am still hanging in there....I quit nic, I had surgery for endo, started on a med that puts me in menopause, my truck issues, my broken ribs, and the list goes on. This is just one more thing and I am determine to find the good in everything.....so, help me to keep my spirits up!! I need to be surrounded by positive people!

My mare is due to foal...yesterday.....still nothing!!! However she is bagged and showing all the signs....Right now she is pacing in the front pasture by herself. She is totally agitated. So we wait....Hubby is out working on the back pasture....we have thistles again and he is cutting them down by hand...we did this last year and have WAY less this year, so I guess it is working??? My sinuses are crappy today due to the 20mph wind and the yellow flowers...yuck. I still have a cracked rib that is really painful at the walk when riding, so I am still off my ponies. I will work Joe however. He loves me.....lol Hick is still not right and still skinny.....Not sure how long it will take to get him back to 100%...

I am Here!

OK, sorry for no updates. A lot has been going on. First of all, Hick is back at our house. I sold him to my farrier in exchange for services....and that was all of 3 months ago. Well, I heard that Hick was being starved down....they were right. So we went and picked him up after I told my farrier (now ex-farrier) that someone was interested in him and I was coming to get him. He had mentioned sell him to pay us off.....I loaded Hick up and never looked my farrier in the eye. He did not make any excuses. I did not give him the chance because I was going to kick his ass. Anyhow, Hick is home Here is a before and after pic...

Yeah I am pissed. But I did what I could and got him home. Basically he was rode HARD and not given any groceries. Only grass and a round bale...and not de-wormed either. I rode him yesterday and on one hand, he was way better than before...no more buck no more rear....BUT he was OFF. I know his back needs to be adjusted and it seems he is sore on his hocks. I will get him fixed up in due time.

Joe is doing GREAT! I worked him yesterday too and WOW. We warmed up then I put the little lite hack on him and climbed on. I was trotting him around the round pen and decided to ask him to zig and zag....OMG that horse can flat out MOVE! I asked him to turn into the fence a few times too and I got to tell you that I almost lost my seat! THEN he asked me if we could do it at a lope...he likes to gain speed going into his turns! I love it! So we started doing it at the lope and he got faster and turned harder! Thank God for the saddle horn! LMAO. Anyhow, Joe is not for sale anymore. We are almost over our little issues and I am in love with the way he moves!!!

Health update.....Jeff has strep and guess what. Now I have fever, a rash and sore throat...Hmmm. Jeff has been in bed since Friday. I bet I am SICK...GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I would say that I will go to the doc tomorrow, but my co-worker left town and I have to work...SO....Anyhow, Jeff is going. He has that rash ALL over. Be aware folks, this strep is spreading like wild fire!

Good Morning.

Yup, I have been a little distant....But trust me, you would rather me that way! My hormones are raging...has to do with the new meds the doc put me on. I have not been sleeping more than 2 hours at a time and boy howdy....have I been cussing! But, I will be OK. Here is my little rant for the day.
Yesterday, I ran in Crockett! Gabe and i are a little slower right now, but we have changed our turning style....For some reason, he has begun to hind end pivot on the back side of the barrel. Its great! I think its because he can move better with out the saddle pinching him. Also, I have been rubbing his ankles and stifles down with surpass before our run and he is back on pureform. So, all in all, he/we are doing better. But we need to get the forward motion back to gain our speed again! OH and some sweet girl closed the gate for me so I did not have to worry about him running anyone over......BUT since it was a first for me with out being at WBR or Destrys....so I did not push hard home. BUT I think it landed us in the 5D...I dont know for sure though because I had to get home to meet the dentist. Tottie, Lynx, Joe and Gabe got their teeth done last night and I must say...POOR JOE!

OK, i have to say this or my head will explode. What is wrong with people? I mean...why do folks assume that I hate them? Why do folks assume that I think they are guilty? "Now that I appear guilty by knowledge I was not in the same state as you when this happened." this was stated...Ugh. Um, I dont think that she did anything...Anyhow, it pisses me off. Number one that some folks think its funny to piss me off then number two...that they get mad at me when it upsets me....I give up. Evidently I am a horrible person and dont have any sense of humor. Oh well. For those of you who are actually my friends out there, thanks. Sorry that I am so horrible. I live to ride. I live to take care of my husband and love my little family. I live to live. I have few friends that I can seriously call friends. You know who you are. I have a lot of acquaintances. I decided right now that I will only allow positive people to be in my life. Not to say that I wont be the shoulder to cry on, but I cant allow anyone else to tear me down. So, unless you plan to be a god friend through thick and thin, please walk away. Unless you plan to support me and allow me to be supportive, then please, stop calling me. I will understand. Love me.
