Hm....I dont Know...

OK, this is a weird post for me, but, I am having an issue...There is a funeral Sunday for a man who inspired me soooooo much. Mr. McCarey was a cowboy. He was a tell it like it is, no need for fluff cowboy. I was in awe when we went to his 90th B-day and he got on Bryan (his horse) and rode him around the arena....everyone wanted him to get off, but he refused. He died Thursday at age 92. Last time Jeff and I went by there, he was so happy to see us. I just knew that we needed to stop and say hi! That was a few months ago (maybe 6) and he was down, but still full of him self...He always had that cowboy wisdom to pass on to us youngins. I loved his stories and just in general loved to be around him. He was the one who Dubbed TJ Speed Wiesel. He also told me that I needed to retire TJ and get Gabe going...Gabe was only a yearling when I kept TJ at the McCarey house. He loved Gabe and said that Gabe would be around for a lifetime. I always said, "No, he is a turn around" Pop would come back and say "Sure, wait till you get to ride him, he is a keeper". That meant a lot to me :) Now, look at Gabe....my ideal horse.
My problem is that the funeral is Sunday and I really dont want to go. Not just because it is a funeral and NO I have no other plans. I just dont think Pop would want us to drive down there to cry over his death. He was one to tell me that time is best spent on a horse. I feel like I would do better to honor his life by staying home and enjoying my horses. I know that he would be proud of us for running today. My other thing is that I feel that funerals are for the family. I was by far family...I am a strange griever. I rather grieve by myself. I rather take Gabe to the back and have myself a good cry than to be around a bunch of folks crying.....Am I a bad person for this? Also, someone once told me that funerals are for the family so you can hug them and show them support....There will be so many folks that were a lot closer to the family there. I will feel much more in the way than anything....

Weird Dreams!!!

So, I have these movie quality dreams....had one last night that was horse specific!!! OK, something happened at a race.....not really sure, but, I was in an ambulance with 5 other barrel racers. We went over this bridge and say these folks hanging from regular balloons. We looked down to the water and it was crystal clear, white sand beaches (yeah on a bridge in an ambulance) Loads of folks having fun. Well, me and my peps made the mistake of saying forget the hospital just take us there!! Well, we ended up in a long line. yup, on the beach.....we were no longer in need of medical care.... I think we might have passed.....OK, so next, we go to the check in counter.....just like at a barrel race and we start asking what our draw number was to get on to the beach!!! I get this wild hair and asked where the horses are. She said that horses don't come here. All horses go to the other Heaven. Bad thing was, I asked this after everyone else checked in and I was last in line of my peeps. I knew I had to go after them and tell them that No horses were allowed in this Heaven!!! We had to get the heck out!!

After a long struggle of telling my fellow barrel racers, I convinced them that we had to get out and away from this HELL cause Heaven would have horses!!!! Well, then night falls.......we find out that we are truly in HELL. And, there is NO WAY out. Then I realized that my body was still on earth in a hospital and I had to choose to leave my peeps behind so I could go back to Earth and live to make that choice between Heaven and Hell again. It was very hard and I had many obstacles to go through, but, i made it.

Seriously, this was a dream that I just woke from. What do I think it means? Walk with God in your life and you will never have to worry about making the wrong choice when the time comes......Oh, and sometimes you have to break away from the crowd to save your own soul. Most of all, if there are not Horses in eternity, I rather live forever on Earth!!!

I have been steadily trying to get Dually's leg healed up. I finally tried just putting lime on it. The furall and Alusheild has been wearing off with in 30 minutes. It drains pretty good/bad....He must have really busted that knee good!!! I am thinking about starting him back on Antibiotics soon. It is just clear fluid though. I think it is in one of those places that just wont heal!!!!!

Wow! What a Weekend!!!!!

Well, I have been busy!!! Hannah came into town Friday night and we rode Gabe and Joe around for about an hour! Joe was doing so good! Anyhow, we loaded up and headed to Stonewall around 9am! We ran, Gabe did great ( a little wide on the first) all in all, good race! I rode Joe around long enough to hear that I was not near the placings on the 3D. Joe did GREAT! Went to the trailer, called around to say that I ran and did good....Decided with Bobby's help, to turn the rig around and haul up to Mindien! Keep in mind that we are in Louisiana.... :) Anyhow, BR to start at 5pm, it was 3pm...So we waited!!! THIS IS WHEN I wish I had a generator!!! It was HOT!!!! Anyhow, they started 2 hours LATE, I ran around 10pm...BUT, we won a check in the 3D!!! I am really wanting to figure out how the heck to ride!!!! Shelly, you would have thought that I had NEVER been on Gabe!!!LOL. Anyhow, funny part of the trip number 2~ I think we turned the truck and trailer around about 5 times that day!!! Also, Hannah kept tell me she had never been that far NORTH!!! LOL. Oh, and I got my new saddle!!!

A Few of My Life Lessons Taught By My Folks!

Yeah, I can now say, after all the years of pure torture, That my parents did a great job of raising me! Yup, they taught me how to make money, respect money, respect myself and others, that there is NO free lunch, hard work is the ONLY thing that pays off, You ONLY get what you put into it, Life is SHORT and can be shorter if you dont straighten up, Cant never could do nothin', A rainy day is just an opportunity to clean the house, dont burn bridges that you might need to cross in the future, chin up, keep your friends close but your enemies closer, You are NOT an adult until you act like one....aka support your own happy butt, Education is the only way to move up in this world, Happiness is a state of mind, the best way to make money is to fold it over and put it back in your pocket, OK, I will stop there!!!!
