New Year! Bring It On!

I am leaping into this new year of new technology and new issues. LOL Right now i am feeling the pain of time passed.....But in the morning I am sure that nothing will change. Just another wonderful day! Oh and 29 days closer to my 30th birthday! I am ready for the new year all in all. I look forward to a new year of barrel racing and new opportunities that I hope and pray will come available! Maybe at the end of this year, we will be ready to start a family and maybe at the end of this new year, Gabe will have won a few saddles and buckles...maybe even a new truck! Bring it on! I dont see the new year as a clean slate, but yet another day/year to keep moving forward on the road to success! I hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday!! As for me and mine, we will be at home as usual listening to the dogs freak out over the fireworks and with me constantly checking the horses to make sure no one has flipped out.....

Hello!

Hey Guys! I sure hope you all had a great Christmas!!! New Year is right there...so close I can touch it!! All is well here! Well, kinda. Jeff threw his back out on Sunday and I am recovering from a cold. Bu all in all, we are fine! We went to the house I grew up in For Christmas Eve Eve. Its a family tradition when me and my full brother got to spend Christmas Eve Eve and Eve morning with our half siblings, Brian and Renee. Anyhow, since the divorce (my folks), we have had the celebration at Brian's or Renee's. Last year we did not have it due to the wedding and my sis (Nei) being way preggers....Anyhow, My Dad has been living in the house and FEMA is buying it out from under him due to all the damage it has aquired from various floods. It was weird being back in that house. Most of all, it was sad. The house will be leveled. Lets see...we moved there in 1986...........WOW....Anyhow, there is lot of memories there both good and really bad, but it was still "our house" and to know it will be no more is sad. My Brother Brian and my Sister Renee did not join us this year....not sure why, but they did not. Mom is too ill or too frail to travel so she did not come either. But we had fun! My friend Brandi and her Mom came along with John, Pam, Heather and Matt....Jim and Debbie came too. For all of you out there that have no idea what I am talking about, that would be my Dads family...my cousins and Aunt/Uncle. Anyhow, we stayed up till around 3am chit chatting. Brandi and I got to catch up! Finally I got to bed and got no sleep..ugh...then when we woke up we went to the ranch.
Ranch was My Dad, his GF, Aunt Betty, Uncle Bill, Matt (cousin) and Jim and Debbie. It was nice to be there even though we spent a lot of time yelling at the dogs. Ugh. That and we had to sleep on the pull out couch with dogs in kennels....Double Ugh. Aside from the ussual family undercut comments, I had fun. I just wish that they would LEAVE ME ALONE!! Oh well, they are family. We were going to leave on Friday, but as we were getting into College Station, the brakes went out on my truck. Not good. So we ordered a master Cylinder and waited till the morning to get it. Jim and Jeff installed it and we went home. Right after I ordered my new boots and got two new sweaters! Christmas was good this year! Jeff got me the boots and a couple other things. Dad got us TSC gift cards...Not sure what else to really mention....my mind is a blurr.....Oh but I did get a new Palm Centreno! I love it except that right now I am downloading the programs to tether it....ugh. Anyhow, All is well.

Gabe got new Nikes and Hick is officially gone. He is happy in his new home as a hog hunting/trail busting/roping/ and general horse. Ryan loves him, so that was a great match up! I will be going to a barrel race next weekend. I will let you guys know how i do! Gabe is being kinda weird, but I am sure he will be fine!

Gabe and His Sexy Hair!

Well folks, I decided that Gabe's faded out afro needed a change. God Love him, he is a BAY!!! Bay's have BLACK manes, tails and legs! Gabe had washed out faded mane, tail and legs. Looked like he had a bad case of highlights!! Anyhow, I have seen this done before, so, I kinda knew what I was doing. I went to the dollar store and bought 3 boxes of afro hair color in Natural Black. Then, I put a plastic bag over his neck (cut a hole in the end and a slit for the mane) Used a little duct tape to hold the plastic in place. Then, we colored. Gabe was NOT happy about this, but he is totally over it now that he has luscious locks of black! I brushed his legs with the color too. Now, take a look at the befores and afters!

OH Check It Out!

I have added a map for my viewers to tell me where they are and I have added "followers" where you can let me know that you are a regular reader!

Not Sure..

Not sure what got into me, but I decided to change my Blog a little!! LOL As for me, I am COLD....Brrrrrrrrr....Gabe rode great last weekend but it seems our tree might be broken in my new freakin saddle. SOOOOO, it goes back to its maker as soon as they call me back with the day it is to be picked up....Sigh. Back into my 10yo Billy Cook Saddle that I broke Gabe in....I hope I can remember how to ride in it! Watch me go out there and win a bunch in that saddle and never ride the "new One" again....LOL gabe is getting very toned and has a lot of life to his step these days. He is on Purform Performance One. It has creatine and such in it. He looks GREAT! Also, he is NOT ALLOWED to do his sweet, smooth, nice pleasure trot anymore. Now we LONG trot or Lope....That is it. No more lazy. I had to change that because I am allowing him to be lazy...Ugh. I miss it! But it is totally showing in our riding. He is getting a lot quicker on his reaction times. No riding this week due to the really cold wet weather and the fact that he is a little sore from the broken saddle.
Joe is doing good too. I put a huge black tarp all over him and strapped it to the saddle horn so that the 30mph wind would blow it all over him as he worked in the round pen. He did AWESOME!! I then got the lariat rope and introduced it to him. Not so thrilled on that, but he finally relaxed. I am hoping if I do this stuff a bunch, I can get the spook out and gain the trust back. He is a super great horse! I no longer have him for sale either.
Hick is now living with my farrier. They like each other so far...OK time to go home and light a fire in the fireplace!!
